A yet-to-be-identified Nigerian man has narrowly escaped death after surviving a tragic accident allegedly caused by some Nigerian police officers on the Dawaki-Kubwa Expressway in Abuja.

According to eyewitnesses, the officers forcefully entered the boy's vehicle without a checkpoint or prior stop order, leading to a struggle that ultimately resulted in a devastating crash.

A Facebook user, Opaluwa Omera Ugbede, who posted the video and was seen by Thewatch Africa on Saturday, also shared images from the scene.

Ugbede disclosed that the young man was sent by his mother to purchase sachet water and was returning home when some armed police officers within the area forcefully entered his car.

Ugbede wrote, "He was returning home when police officers within the area forcefully entered his car without any checkpoint or prior stop order. One of the officers allegedly began dragging the steering wheel with him.

"In the struggle, the vehicle lost control, somersaulted three times, and plunged into a gutter.
The young driver was severely injured in the crash, with suspicions of internal bleeding.

“Shockingly, instead of assisting the victim, the police officers reportedly attempted to flee the scene. However, vigilant bystanders acted swiftly, deflating the police vehicle’s tyres and ensuring the boy was rescued from the wreckage.”

In the video, the man sustained multiple injuries and appeared to be unconscious but was later rushed to a nearby hospital.

In the video, the man was heard saying, "This is not the first, second or the third time."

Another voice in the video, claiming to be the victim's friend was talking in pidgin English to a police officer also laying unconscious inside a car, "Na you want kill my friend, una dey use federal government gun dey rob people, make una see the officer way want kill my friend, u dey pretend now."

The officers who caused the accident allegedly attempted to flee the scene, an action that sparked public outrage.
