Tizi Hodson, a 70-year-old from Lincolnshire, UK, has received a response to a job application she submitted almost 48 years ago.
Back in 1976, Hodson applied to be a motorcycle stunt rider, a position she was passionate about. After years of waiting without a reply, she assumed her application had been overlooked.
The surprise came during renovation work at the Staines Post Office, where workers discovered her long-forgotten letter hidden behind a drawer. They returned it to her, accompanied by a note humorously stating it was “only about 50 years late.”
Upon receiving the letter, Hodson expressed amusement and reflected on her life’s journey, which had taken her far from her initial dream. Over the decades, she pursued a variety of adventurous careers, including snake handler, horse whisperer, aerobatic pilot, and flying instructor, traveling extensively and embracing thrilling experiences.
Looking back, she shared a piece of advice for her younger self: to seize every opportunity, even if it came with risks. The late arrival of her application serves as a fitting reminder of her adventurous spirit and the unexpected twists that life can take, allowing her to live out her dreams in ways she never anticipated.
