Lagos state seals off Maverick Estate over wetland invasion

The Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources has sealed off Maverick Estate along Anthony Oke, Oshodi Expressway.

Operatives from the Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Department closed the estate due to its encroachment on wetlands and the TREM drainage channel.

This was disclosed in a post shared by the Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, via his X.com handle on Saturday.

The post read, “Operatives of the Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Department from Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources #LasgMOE sealed off Maverick Estate along Anthony Oke, Oshodi Expressway on Friday 13/09/2024 for encroaching on wetlands / TREM drainage Channel."
