Police reveals identity of slain Abuja crossdresser

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed the identity of the male corpse, initially mistaken for a female, whose body was found lifeless along Katampe-Mabushi expressway In Abuja.

After a discreet investigation was carried out by the Command under the direction of the state Commissioner of Police, Benneth C. Igweh, it turns out to be that the deceased was one Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict.

His identify was made known in a statement  by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the 33-year-old man hails from Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and resides at Dapé in Karmo Area of Abuja. 

However, the FCT police command had on Thursday, August 8, confirmed the death of a yet-to-be-identified person who was said to be a man fully dressed in female clothings with no means of identification on him.

The statement read, "Sequel to a case of culpable homicide and discovery of an unidentified male corpse earlier mistaken for a female on August 8, 2024.

"The operatives of the FCT Command have begun a discreet investigation as ordered by the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni.

"The family of the deceased have also been contacted, as they are aiding the police with necessary information."

The command assured the public that further developments in the investigation would be communicated in due course.
