Nigeria Police arrest 2,726 suspects, recovers 1788 ammunition, rescue 207 kidnapped victims

The Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, paraded several suspects apprehended for different heinous criminal acts in one month. 

According to the Force, the decisive action underscores the relentless efforts to combat crime and bring perpetrators to justice.

This was made known in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and shared on the Nigerian Police's Facebook page on Friday.

The police stated that the suspects were presented to the media and the general public, after confessing to the commission of various offences ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping.

One of the female suspects, 30 years of Hauwa Yusuf an indigine of Dutsin-Ma LGA of Katsina State was intercepted while in transit from Lafia, Nasarawa State to Katsina State, inside a Sienna Bus along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

Yusuf was arrested and one AK-47 Rifle without breach Number and Four AK magazines concealed inside a white Sack of Garri were recovered from the suspect.

The Suspect confessed that she was delivering the weapons at the behest of a notorious bandit terrorising Katsina State. 

Kayode reiterated the Police Force's dedication to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerian citizens.

The Force urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by providing timely information that can aid in the investigation and apprehension of criminal elements.
