Loaded tanker overturns on Lagos road, causes gridlock

A loaded gas tanker has fallen at the 
 Oke axis of Lagos state, blocking the road and causing gridlock in the area.

This was made known in a tweet accompanied by videos on the X.com handle of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, on Wednesday.

According to reports, personnel from the Lagos State Fire Service, as well as LASTMA personnel has been deployed to the scene.

The post read, "A fallen loaded gas tanker at Anthony oke by Trem inward. Necessary action has been taken and our men are firmly positioned to divert traffic to the alternative route.

"Motorists coming from Oshodi oke are advised to make use of Ikorodu road to continue their journey.

"Evacuation has commenced immediately by LASTMA personnel. 

"While motorists are enjoined to move through the service lane after Anthony Oke to continue their journey. Patience is required from all road users.

"Men of Lagos Fire service are on the action as also LASTMA personnel are doing the needful by effectively the managing situation.

"Patience is required from the motoring public as the total recovery will be completed soon.

"Our personnel are firmly positioned to monitor and direct the traffic effectively."
