Former US president Donald Trump has said that he would have arrested and thrown Hilary Clinton to jail and locked her up during his time as President.

Trump stated that he failed to do so because he knew that his action would have divided the country.

The 78-year-old Trump made this known in a statement shared on his X.com handle on Tuesday, noting that Clinton is the real divider, not him.

Trump's post read, "I could have thrown Hillary Clinton in jail and locked her up, but I didn’t because I knew it would divide our country. Today at the DNC, she got the crowd chanting “Lock Him Up”, she is the real divider, not me."

Hilary Clinton is an American politician and diplomat who served as the 67th United States secretary of state in the administration of Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013, she also served as a U.S. senator representing New York from 2001 to 2009, and as the first lady of the United States to former president Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001.

A member of the Democratic Party, she was the party's nominee in the 2016 presidential election, becoming the first woman to win a presidential nomination by a major U.S. political party and the first woman to win the popular vote for U.S. president.

THEWATCH AFRICA reported that Hilary Clinton was seen in a video at the DNC where she got the crowd chanting “Lock Him Up."
