Police re-arrest VeryDarkMan in FCT for exposing politician

Operatives of the Nigerian police have arrested controversial social media critic, Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

VeryDarkMan was arrested in the early hours of Sunday at his Abuja residence.

THEWATCH AFRICA could not ascertain the reason for his arrest.

However, speaking to THEWATCH AFRICA his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, stated that his arrest is related to his recent exposé on his X.com.

Adeyanju revealed that Otse was arrested on the orders of CP Igwe for allegedly defaming a Nigerian politician known as Emeka D. Ebo who had been accused of scamming a Nigerian abroad.

He wrote, “Our client, #thatverydarkman has just been arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad.

“Instead of the police to arrest the person alleged to have duped someone, they arrested VDM on allegation of defamation.”

On June 18, Verydarkman alleged that Ebo defrauded his friend in the United States (Name Unknown) of $230,000 in the pretense of funding a government contract and promised to give his friend a larger share once the contract had been approved.
