Douye Diri, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the November 11, election has been re-elected as the governor of Bayelsa state.
He was announced winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday, November 13.
Declaring Diri, as the winner, Prof Kuta Farouq said, “By the power conferred in me as the state returning officer for the Bayelsa state governorship election 2023, declare Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party having polled the highest number of votes, winner and hereby returned elected”.
The just concluded governorship and House of Assembly elections was conducted in three states, Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All progressive Congress was re-elected for the second term in Imo state, while Alhaji Usman Ododo, of the same party was declared winner in Kogi state.
