The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has mourned the leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement, Prophet Samuel Abidoye, aka Baba Aladura.
Abidoye’s death was announced on Sunday evening by the church’s Secretary General, Ademola Odetundun.
Reacting to his death, Obi posted on his X handle, describing Prophet Abidoye as an outstanding committed servant of God. Abidoye died at age 103.

Obi’s post read, “I have just received the sad news of the passing on of the Spiritual Father and Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye, at the age of 103.
“I commiserate with the entire Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, the Christian Association of Nigeria, the government, and the people of Kwara State over his irreplaceable loss.
“May God who called him home, grant him eternal rest”.
