Pope Francis has called on Israel and the Palestinians to find a solution at the negotiating table to curb the killings of innocent people.
The 86-year-old strongly advocated for a two-state solution, one state for Israel and one for the Palestinians.
Pope Francis made this known in a post shared on his X handle on Thursday.
The call for a two-state solution, one for each countries has enjoyed broad support for decades, but has not progressed in spite of all international appeals.

The tweet read, “Today, thinking of the dead, let us ask the Lord for peace so that people are no longer killed in war.
“War is a defeat, always. Let us pray to the Lord for our deceased, for everyone – that the Lord might welcome them all”.
At the same time, the Pope condemned any form of anti-Semitism.
